In the academia world, I am also known as Sam Alkhalili, however, legally I am known as Oussama Alkhalili.

I have been working in higher education since 1992. I began as a math tutor for MESA program at the College of the Sequoias, Visalia, California, and I have served as an administrator from 1996 until 2005, at community college and university. I have been teaching technology and business since 2001, at different universities, colleges, and community colleges. At this time, I am a tenure professor at Highline College for Business Technology department.

Since I moved to Washington State, I have been involved in many different non-profit and startup organizations where served on many boards in various positions. At this time, I am the Media Coordinator for Tacoma Table Tennis Club, and a board member for Seattle Arab Festival, and Founder/Treasurer for Lebanese American Society of Seattle.
